Student Experience Amstel
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Location, retention, performance
Situated on the Joan Muyskenweg with direct views over the Amstel, the complex combines a prime waterfront position with efficient centralised management. The 520 studios of 21 m² each include a private kitchen and bathroom, with an additional eight larger studios of 27 m². Built modular by Jan Snel and operational since 2015, Amstel was designed from the start as a long-stay location with a minimum 15-year lifecycle.

Shared spaces that earn their place
The enclosed courtyard garden with hammocks and picnic tables sits at the heart of the complex, with a gym, study rooms, game corner and private dining room on the ground floor. The signature yellow rooftop sports field offers the views. Grand café AmstelPlace provides a social anchor at street level. On-site medical facilities, including a GP, dentist and physiotherapist, complete a self-contained living environment where 520 residents from around the world share one address.
520 studios on the Amstel river, a yellow sports field on the roof, and a courtyard garden at the centre. Amstel was the second Student Experience location and the project that turned a temporary housing model into a proven long-stay concept. Operational since 2015, the complex continues to serve international students 15 minutes from downtown Amsterdam.
Every project is shaped by the people behind it. We partner with specialists who share our commitment to building living environments that last.
